Members of the Dean's Circle took a tour of Garvan Woodland Gardens during their meeting there this summer.
Ken Shollmier earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1963 from the University of Arkansas and served as the chief executive officer for Shollmier Distributing Inc. in Little Rock. He was honored as the Entrepreneur of the Year by the Sam M. Walton College of Business in 2010.
The University of Arkansas Community Design Center has received more than 200 design awards since 1995.
The Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design was ranked 19th in the nation overall – and eighth among public universities – for 2013 in the annual survey of “America’s Best Architecture and Design Schools" published in the November/December 2012 issue of DesignIntelligence.
The project that renovated Vol Walker Hall and added the Steven L. Anderson Design Center was awarded LEED Gold certification and won a 2018 AIA Honor Award for Architecture.
