Welcome to the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design!

Architects, landscape architects and interior architects and designers are critically engaged in shaping the world in which we live. All forms of design education both distill and reflect our culture and society. Design leadership in architecture, landscape architecture and interior architecture and design is therefore the central focus of our school.

Our design-centered education emphasizes both personal creative development and collaborative work with others in interdisciplinary ways, all within a great research university. Our school's education will prepare you for lifelong learning and professional advancement.

Across our school, we focus our students' attentions on the issues of community with a global awareness. We design for the lives of real people and towards a better environment, through a responsible emphasis on the materiality and experience of design. Through this design-centered emphasis on the real, we prepare you to work productively across geographies, societies and cultures.

Our students in architecture, interior architecture and design and landscape architecture design furniture, rooms, buildings, gardens, parks, communities and cities. Our professional degree programs in all three departments prepare you for advancement into internship and licensure, while our pre-professional programs prepare you for graduate school in advanced design, architectural history or urban design. You may specialize in other areas, too: architectural and environmental history, site planning, graphics and preservation, for example. In addition, you are eligible to participate in the independent exploration of topics through the school's Honors Program.

Welcome again... begin your exploration and discovery of design with us!
