Description:

In this studio, students learned the basics of making spaces and how to model and draw those spaces effectively. For the abstract project “Space Chunk,” students were asked to fix different-sized rooms and with different amounts of enclosure into a 15-by-9-by-9-foot cube. For the abstract project “Figure-Ground,” students learned how to rapidly develop and iterate ideas for the purposes of refining their work to a high degree of quality. They also learned basic compositional principles, gained foundation drawing skills, and learned how to execute a project from initial idea to execution in one week.
